I should have known better on a fairly humid late spring morning in N.E. Ohio the pests would be out and they didn't disappoint. I made a half attempt through a field to reach a decent birding area only to be bullied by the ever persistent deer flies that laughed at the 40% deet I was wearing...lol...Back to the car were a tick hitched a ride on my camera strap and it had to be disposed of. So it was birding on the road for me from there on. And to be honest the birds were awesome. Great Egret... 1 Immature Bald Eagle.... 1 Turkey.... 1 Brown Thrasher.... Pair Prothonotary Warbler... 1 amazing very friendly bird. Yellow Warbler... plenty Common Yellowthroat....1 Great Crested Flycatcher.... 2..... Nice population of these birds along Hoagland-Blackstub Rd. Bobolink..... 4 pair at least Baltimore Oriole ...3 + 1 fledgling Female Wood Duck with 5 very young ones Various Flycatchers, Catbirds, Tree Swallows ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
