Wanted to mention a few interesting nesting birds in Athens OH, which I have been observing for the past couple of weeks in case someone is interested. a) Yellow throated warbler (male) - can be seen and heard in the woodlot next to 'Stop and Cop' on Richland avenue across the road from OU Inn and the woodlot in level 1 Carriage hill (opposite to apartment blocks 6 and 7). The bird keeps moving between these two lots but spends most of the time at the latter. b) Yellow warbler (male) - can be seen and heard singing in the trees on the right side of Richland avenue (On the bridge over Hocking river as you move from Richland avenue towards the University, there are two trees which are on either side of the bridge on the right side. It is mostly there is either of these two trees). c) Nesting barn swallows on the cement columns below the above mentioned bridge, along the hocking river bike path. Also sighted a Great Blue Heron along the bike path in the river this weekend. Happy Birding. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
