Hi All, This morning I spent a couple of hours at Wendy Park at Whiskey Island, on the mouth of the Cuyahoga River, Cleveland Lakefront. There was a noisy Northern Mockingbird in the corner of the park by the lift bridge on the Cuyahoga. Nearby perched on wires by the train tracks were what I believe were two Bank Swallows. They had very distinct brown "necklaces" and white on their necks, not muddy like the juvenile Rough-winged Swallows which were numerous. Barn Swallows were zooming around everywhere, especially around the old Coast Guard Station. Rough-winged Swallows and Barn Swallows were feeding youngsters perched on the wires.. Also the Red-winged Blackbirds and European Starlings were around in great numbers. Another interesting sight was all the bird "lime" streaking down the mounds of taconite where the gulls like to perch. Wendy Park looks pretty nice right now with all of the prairie patches in bloom. Leaving there I went to Edgewater Park, where the highlight was an Indigo Bunting along the grassy path that goes east from Perkins Beach parking area.
