July 17, 2009 Ben Warner and I birded Pickerington Ponds, Chatterton Wetlands, and Scioto Audubon Metro Park this morning. Pickerington Ponds has excellent shorebird habitat. Highlights were 12 Least Sandpiper, a Short-billed Dowitcher, and a Sedge Wren. Chatterton Wetlands also has excellent shorebird habitat. Highlights included 15 Least Sandpiper, a Ring-necked Pheasant, and a Rose-breasted Grosbeak. Scioto Audubon Metro Park has a tiny bit of habitat but if the water level drops it should get better. 1 Solitary Sandpiper was present. Full eBird checklists below.
