I haven't seen any posts about the Bellevue "sky ponds" so I checked out the area.  There'll be no shorebirds there this year - what was water and mudflats a year ago is corn and soybeans now.

The part of Pickerel Creek Wildlife Area along US 6 is still unpromising but the pool on Pearson Rd (across from the Prairie Orchid site) may have some shorebird habitat in a couple of weeks.  Today it had 65 Great Egrets.

The more distant pool behind the Willow Point Wildlife Area "Fish Work Unit" building complex is shaping up nicely.  Today it had about 50 Killdeer and a few each Lesser Yellowlegs and Least Sandpipers.  No sign of Gabe's S-b Dowitcher or Stilt Sandpiper.  The pools off the gravel road at the east end of Willow Point look lower than two weeks ago but still have no exposed earth.
