Spending a few days in Berlin and walked on a nice path on the hotel property next to a creek. Saw a pair of nesting red headed woodpeckers! They took turns going in and out of the hole in the top branch of a dead tree. Sometimes they would land together. Also saw the Flicker land on a different branch of the same dead tree. Down the creek, saw a half dozen Cedar Waxwings flew in and out of the tree branches to catch insects. 2 Mourning Dove 6 Chimney Swift 2 Red-headed Woodpecker 1 Northern Flicker 1 Blue Jay 2 White-breasted Nuthatch 1 Wood Thrush 1 American Robin 3 Gray Catbird 6 Cedar Waxwing 3 Chipping Sparrow 2 Field Sparrow 4 American Goldfinch Chris McAnlis ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
