I spent a few hours looking around Mosquito L/WA yesterday afternoon.  The big surprise was an alt-plumaged male ruddy duck at the Rte. 88 causeway.  Plenty of other good birds in the area included 20 wood ducks, 4 ospreys (2 young), bald eagle, belted kingfisher, ruby-throated hummingbird, e. wood-pewees, great crested flycatcher, e. phoebe, 4 e. kingbirds, 5 yellow-throated vireos, warbling vireo, red-eyed vireos, purple martins, tree swallows, cliff swallows, e. bluebirds, wood thrush, n. mockingbird, cerulean warbler, many c. yellowthroats, hooded warbler, scarlet tanager, e. towhees, field sparrows, swamp sparrows, rose-breasted grosbeak, and indigo buntings.  Later, Craig
