The immature Little Blue Heron was still present at Three Creeks Metro Park in Columbus on Saturday. The bird was there when I arrived at 11:10am and was still present when I left at 11:50pm. At about 11:30am it flew into a tree on the west side of the pond but it was still visible from the overlook. From the intersection of Alum Creek Dr and Williams Rd in southeast Columbus, go east on Williams Rd and park in the Madison Mills parking lot near the river. Walk south along the bike path past I-270 and the pond is on the right. Thanks to Rob Thorn for excellent coverage of the local patches in Columbus and for reporting this bird. Thanks also to the Columbus Transit Authority for making this chase possible via bike and public transit.
