I took a mid-day walk through Sheldon's Marsh. The leaves are turning
nicely. The lake has protected them from the frosts/freezes that were
farther south. Winter birds are moving in. The more interesting
species I saw were: Hermit Thrush, Common Grackle, Ruby- and Golden-
crowned kinglets, Yellow-rumped Warbler, White-throated and White-
crowned sparrows, and Dark-eyed Junco. Downy and Red-bellied
woodpeckers, robins, Blue Jays, and Mallards are still common.
Yesterday I saw some Tree Swallows but none today.
