Though I haven't seen many postings that have had to use the DeLorme Ohio Atlas coordinates lately, past experience has shown that it makes locating the exact location where that rare bird was located very easy to find. I remember in particular the ease of finding the Harris Sparrow a few years ago when a list participant offered the DeLorme coordinates (not GPS coordinates), and our friend Richard Counts (sp. ? Sorry Richard!) finds those great longspurs each winter and guides us out to his part of the state with the DeLorme coordinates as well. Of course, you do need a DeLorme Atlas to make that meaningful..... ) :-) Cheers....Bob __ Robert D Hinkle, PhD Chief, Division of Outdoor Education Cleveland Metroparks (216) 341-9225 NAI National Workshop November 17-21 Hartford, CT www.interpnet.com P Please consider the environment before printing this e-mail > > This message and any response to it may constitute a public record and thus > may be publicly available to anyone who requests it. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
