A surprise visitor this morning to one of our black oil sunflower seed tube feeders--I saw a large black bird clinging to it precariously--yes, a fine male grackle in what looked like irridescent breeding plumage!  It and another (possibly mate?) were later scrounging in the leaf litter, which is where I would expect to find them--except not on November 13.  Good birding!  Pam Unger
