That's right, Florida's first state record for this species was found alive and washed up on the beach at Ponce Inlet, Volusia County, FL on December 15, 2009. Read about this amazing find and see photos of this bird heret: http://listserv.admin.usf.edu/listserv/wa.exe? A2=ind0912&L=brdbrain&D=1&T=0&O=D&P=93963 Perhaps this is indicative of climate change or some other phenomenon that we do not know about as yet?
