Thanks to Sally Isacco for keeping track of the unusually late
yellow-throated warbler in Chagrin Falls. This is only the sixth winter
Ohio record for this southern warbler. Interestingly, all six come from
the north-eastern quarter of Ohio, with the previous three from Holmes
County feeders, the most recent 1/18-19/2003.
To get an idea of how unusual this is, see the Breeding Bird Atlas I
map in Peterjohn's "The Birds of Ohio" on pg 439, and the new Atlas map
(in the making) at
http://bird.atlasing.org/Atlas/OH/Main?cmd=stateSummary&theme=species&edition=current&species=yetwar&species=Go
where this species looks pretty sparse up that way.

This might be a good time to make my annual offer of a free quick index
to Peterjohn (2001) that you can paste inside the back cover; it'll make
it easier to consult this invaluable reference.
Just ask and I'll e-mail a file.
