Mercer Wildlife Area hosted a flock of Sandhill Cranes this morning. About 30-50 spent the morning on the Area. And this afternoon, a flock of about 200 flew over Saint Marys heading south. The Mercer Bald Eagle pair may be moving their home -- they have spent much time renovating a nest in the Rookery on the Area. This renovation has added approximately ?? 1 foot to the nest. Time will tell if the Mrs accepts this new model. Grand Lake Saint Marys contains approximately 2-3000 Canada Geese and many ducks - mostly Mallards. Though I didn't see the Pelican today, it is still spending time on the Lake. Oh, the weather outside is frightful - but it is still so much fun to "hunt" for birds. (sorry, you have to add your own music) Enjoy, Jill Bowers _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: Powerful Free email with security by Microsoft. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/171222986/direct/01/ ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
