I arrived at 4:40 PM today and observed 1 Merlin eating what looked like
a Junco in Section 85. I drove around to Section 20 and it was already
there still eating. I quickly drove back to Sec 85 and sure enough there was
another Merlin there. I stayed to observe what maybe have been a third bird
(looked smaller than the 2 females and it was getting dark) that went to
roost from Sec. 47 at 5:58 PM. There were a few Juncos along the RR tracks
south of the bridge.
Also had 8-10 Tree Sparrows and a Red-breasted Nuthatch (been here since
late fall) in the yard.
