Getting some snow here in NW Ohio, Fremont. My backyard visitors so far today (now Noon): 1 Red-bellied Woodpecker 2 Downey Woodpecker 3 White-breasted Nuthatch 1 Mourning Dove The usual assortment of Cardinals, Blue Jays, House Sparrows. Drove behind Fremont's water filtration plant. Silver fish, about 1 to 5 inches, are teaming in this 30ft. wide by 250ft. long output stream. The warm open stream attracted: 6 Mallards 1 Belted-Kingfisher 60+ Herring Gulls 40+ Ring-billed Gulls 1 Adult Bald Eagle 1 Imm. Bald Eagle Through telescope, I witnessed the B. Kingfisher perced on a rock and trying to spear the fish without diving in. Never knew Anne Murray's song "Fly Away" was about the Snow Bunting. For your pleasure, I put it on the CREATE A WILDLIFE FRIENDLY YARD site. Scroll down and enjoy the video/song presentation. Also, there's another MYSTERY BIRD CONTEST- WHAT IS IT? post as well. Enjoy. Robert http://wildlifefriendlylawn.blogspot.com/ ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
