I went out there today and there are 2 Mute Swans and 4 Tundra's. There were also quite a few Gadwall's. A walk around in the wooded area netted Downey Woodpecker Chickadee Kingfisher Cardinal Whitebreasted Nuthatch Tufted Titmouse Yellow shafted Flicker (flying away, pretty sure) Goldfinch (heard) Carolina Wren A group of ground foraging Robins among them a round brown Thrush of some sort, speckeled throat, slightly rustish tinged tail - Hermit? he was shy and a small Hawk, at first I thought maybe a Merlin but seemed a little big and the face wasn't right a juvenile Sharp Shinned? but the breast streaking in Peterson's runs horizontal and is reddish, this breast streaking seemed vertical and brown. Ah well. I'm only good with the easy stuff. Mary, Dayton ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
