I was able to find the first-cycle Iceland Gull previously reported by Rick Asamoto around 3:00 pm today (2/18). It was in the same area as described in Rick's post, and was down on the water with some Herring and Ring-billed Gulls. I birded from the bike path (assuming one could find it under all of the snow!). There were also hundreds of Ring-billed Gulls on the bank of the river, which I spent over 30 minutes scanning before the Iceland Gull seemingly flew in from nowhere. There were also several other species present at this site: Northern Shoveler Mallard American Black Duck Hooded Merganser (1 female) Gadwall Ring-necked Duck Redhead Canada Goose American Coot Mute Swan (3) Best of luck, -Matt ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
