I hate to be a mooch, but I wondered if anyone on the List had a copy of the ABA Birder's Guide to Southern California (2007) by Brad Schram that they'd be willing to loan me for a couple of weeks. I have the older ABA/Lane Guide, but assume that much has changed in that area of the world in the 20 years since its publication. I've checked my local libraries, and even the statewide "Ohio Libraries Share More," but to no avail. If I weren't such a cheapskate, I'd buy the new one, but who knows if I'll ever get another chance (I'm heading out this Spring) to make use of it. Likewise, if anyone can offer suggested easy-to-get-to (I'm travelling with a non-birding friend) Laguna and south, especially San Diego, "hot spots" it would be greatly appreciated. I've seen many of the California water birds, but am painfully lacking in the smaller, less- defined land birds (flycatchers, warblers, California Quail, gnatcatchers, thrashers, etc.). Advice readily received! And thanks!
