So the feeders went up today in the new backyard at 8 am. A few suet cakes, black oil sunflower seeds in two feeders, a mix in 2 feeders, a tray of mealworms and 1 thistle feeder. The list for the first day includes:
8 BC Chickadees
5 Tufted Titmice
2 WB Nuthatches
2 starlings
1 Robin
4 Blue Jays
2 Cardinals
2 Eastern Bluebirds
2 Downy woodpeckers
2 Red-bellied woodpeckers
1 Flicker
3 Mourning doves
1 Hairy woodecker
1 House finch
2 Juncos

Fly overs:
3 Canada geese
1 Bald Eagle
1 Pileated woodpecker
2 Red shouldered hawks

It has been a fun day watching all of the activity. I can honestly say that I am shocked (and very pleased at the same time) that there was not a single House sparrow to be seen.
Good birding
Dan
