Today I turned 40. So I treated myself to a photo walk today to Big Island Wildlife Area. My original intent was to get pics of birds. But as is often the case, birds were scarce. There were the usual Herons preparing their nests at the rookery. Red heads and Pileateds jostling for roosting spots.Canada Geese defending there turf. One goose had a necklace...White w/black letters...4K3T. Turned it in to USGS...I hope to hear something back. If someone can feedback to me about it, I would be greatly appreciate it. The goose that had it on was lying on her nest trying its best to hide... If I hadn't been chasing a swamp sparrow at the time, I would have missed it. :-D I did happen to find a Swamp Sparrow. I was kind of hoping that it was a Lincoln...I don't think it is. Just to many non Lincoln markings. But a Swamp Sparrow is still good to me any day. No Warblers in the small area I walked. See y'all in a few weeks up at Magee.
