The Lake Erie Islands Chapter of the Black Swamp Conservancy will host bird programs for an Elderhostel sponsored by the Lake Erie Islands Historical Society on South Bass Island. Our region is in the perfect place with the perfect resources for spring and fall bird migration. This is a combination of geography, temperate climate, weather and food supply. Larry will explain why Lake Erie is among the best birding destinations in the world and is of global ecological importance.
