Observed/heard some interesting birds today. For the 3rd day in a row, a golden-winged or hybrid warbler has been singing in a brushy area off the southeast corner of the parking lot at Geauga Park District's bike trailhead, Mountain Run Station east of Chardon. A fellow birder and I both tried unsuccessfully to get a look at this elusive bird at different times. Saw four common moorhens at the marsh on the corner of Auburn and Pekin Rds. in Newbury Twp. I even got to hear one "sing"! To top it off, heard 2 orioles and a scarlet tanager while on the bike trail. Great to have the afternoon off... ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
