According to Ray Hannikman, today ( Friday May 14th ) was the best day for Warblers at Headlands in 10 years ; he and Emil had 25 species by noon. A hooded warbler made it 26 species of warblers.. I have never had so many parulas singing or the numbers and diversity as today down at Headlands! Highlights included: Prairie, Kentucky, Orange-crowned, Canadas, Hooded, Cerulean just to name a few. The Blackburnians were everywhere as well as Tennessee's. A pair of Redheaded Woodpeckers were icing on the cake. Looks were up close and personnal. And, I wasn't freezing. I did not have time to cover the entire park, but I'm sure it held over surprises. Savannah and Lincoln's sparrows also put on a good show.
