Lake Hope State Park & Zaleski State Forest are located 14 miles south of Nelsonville(Rte 33) off of Rte 278. Clear Creek Metro Park is located south of Lancaster(Rte 33) off of County Rd 116. Yesterday Bill Kinkead, Ken Shephard, and I visited these areas. We had 18 Warblers at Lake Hope & Zaleaski, and added the Canada Warbler at Clear Creek Metro Park. There was a lot of activity everywhere, with young being feed. Below is a list of some of the birds found. I would like to thank Bill & Ken for helping find these birds and for a great day of birding King Hollow Rd Service Rd Woods Warblers Hooded-3 American Redstart-2 Ovenbird-3 E Wood Peewee Scarlet Tanager Black-billed Cuckoo-carrying food Clear Cut Warblers Yellow-breasted Chat-2 Prairie-2 males, one male feeding young Blue-winged Warbler-male & female feeding young Black-and-white Hooded-male & female together, 2 other males Hairy Woodpecker-female Ruby-throated Hummingbird Blue-gray Gnatcatcher Indigo Bunting Wood Thrush E Towhee Selected Cut Warblers Cerulean-2 American Redstart-3 Hooded-3 Yellow-breasted Chat Prairie Ovenbird-2 C Yellowthroat Black-and-white Blue-winged Kentucky Yellow-throated Vireo-2 together Red-eyed Vireo Cedar Waxwing-10+ King Hollow Rd Warblers Worm-eating Kentucky- carrying food Ovenbird N Parula-male & female Cerulean-2 males, one was eating a moth American Redstart-2 Baltimore Oriole Yellow-billed Cuckoo Wheelabout Rd/ Shea Rd intersection Prothonotary Warbler Wheelabout Rd-just beyond the bridge Warblers Yellow Prairie Yellow-breasted Chat White-eyed Vireo Red-tailed Hawk-adult Indigo Bunting Carolina Wren Ruby-throated Himmingbird Great Blue Heron Lake Hope Schoolhouse Warblers Yellow-breasted Chat-3 Prairie-2 C Yellowthroat White-eyed Vireo Barn Swallow Chimney Swift-2 Hunter's Camp-Atkinson's Ridge Rd Warblers Pine-2 C Yellowthroat Black-throated Green Chestnut St-outside of the city of Zaleski Blue Grosbeak Prairie Warbler E Phoebe N Mockingbird Iron Furnace Trail Warblers C Yellowthroat Yellow American Redstart N Parula Ovenbird-2 Hooded Yellow-throated Yellow-billed Cuckoo Indigo Bunting Great Blue Heron E Kingbird Great Crested Flycatcher Habron Hollow Trail Warblers Worm-eating-7 Ovenbird-8 American Redstart-2 Cerulean-3 Black-and-white Louisianna Waterthrush-carrying food Acadian Flycatcher-4 Baltimore Oriole Hemlock Trail-Clear Creek Metro Park Warblers Black-throated Green American Redstart Ovenbird Louisianna Waterthrush Worm-eating Canada Scarlet Tanager Pileated Woodpecker-drumming Wood Thrush Bruce Simpson-Naturalist at Blendon Woods Metro Park in Columbus ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
