Paula Bartlett, Pat Hayes, and I conducted the July monthly census for Kelleys Island today. This the 13th year this has been conducted. The average for July is 62 species and 3542 individuals. We observed 61 species and 6358 individuals. So this was an average July count species-wise but above average individual-wise. Most were gulls(4186 individuals) which were feeding off the west side of the island or roosting along the south side of the island.
