While out hunting down monarch butterflies I came across a small flock of
evening grosbeaks in the newly designated Wallace H. Dowd Wildlife Area.
It is located along Jobs-Pittsburg Road (Co. Rd. 22 for the most part),
Ward Township, Hocking Co. The grosbeaks were on Hocking Co. Rd. 22 about
2 1/4 miles west of the intersection with St. Rt. 78. This intersection
is between the towns of Buchtel and Murray City.
