I was at Villa Angela State Park in Cleveland today from 9:3am to 4:30pm. Mark Anderson birded with me from 10:45 to 1pm. Jeanne Hrenko was already there and birded with us only part of the time til 12:45pm. The birding wasn't as crazy as Friday afternoon late but there were birds away from the lake to be seen the entire time I was there. Most birds seen were west of the grassy knoll west of the bridge, the woods/field area north of the library, and the main "silver maple" woods north of the previous location. Most birds found in the morning, I did add additional five warbler species in the later afternoon. Here are some of the birds that I saw today: Black-crowned Night-Heron 1 adult Cooper's Hawk 1 Chimney Swift 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1 Hairy & Northern Flickers Eastern Wood-Pewee - 2 Yellow-bellied Flycatcher 1 Empid Flycatchers ~ 4 Red-eyed Vireo 1 Philadelphia Vireo 1 Blue Jays - many Tufted Titmouse 2 Brown Creeper 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1 Swainson's Thrush - at least 10 Wood Thrush 1 American Robins - many many Gray Catbirds - 7-8 Warblers (17 species) Tennessee 1 Nashville 13 Northern Parula 2 Chestnut-sided 1 Magnolia 15 Cape May 4 Black-throated Blue 4 Yellow-rumped 12 Black-throated Green 7 Blackburnian 1 Bay-breasted 2 Blackpoll 30+ Black-and-White 1 American Redstart 3 Ovenbird 1 Common Yellowthroat 1 Wilson's 12 Song Sparrow 1 White-throated Sparrows - many many Nancy Anderson Richmond Hts, OH http://www.flickr.com/photos/nancy_a/ ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
