Yesterday a group of us drove up to Hoover Reservoir to view some birds and
get out and do some hiking,too.

Hoover Meadows:

1-  Spotted Sandpiper, 1st Winter Plumage

1-Yellow-throated Vireo

1-Henslow's Sparrow ( I identified it by sound )

2- Red-bellied Woodpeckers
1-Red-headed Woodpecker
Many- Crows, Blue-jays, turkey vultures, a few catbirds.

Mud Hen Marsh:
1- Cooper's Hawk
1- Great-crested Flycatcher diving and catching some food

Many catbirds,  canadian geese, blue-jays,crows, etc.

Hoover Dam and Reservoir

A large and very mobile flock of Chimney Swifts.
Many TV's, blue-jays, crows, canadian geese, mallards,  and 2 ducks that
could have served as the model for a popular  H-M-O commercial.

Saturday evening about 5:30PM , I spotted a Peregrine Falcon from my Hi-rise
downtown apartment  flying northward towards Broad Street clutching its food
in its talons.
