Hello.

I started off the day by adding a Black-throated Blue Warbler to my OWU year
list. At about 8:30am, I watched a MASSIVE line of Double-crested Cormorants
fly south at a ~2000ft altitude. They were so high up, but I could count in
groups of ten.

Later, I received a call from a couple of ornithology students, Will Condit
and Justus Nethero, and Dr. David Johnson that the Biodiversity of Flowering
Plants course had flushed a Least Bittern by the marsh behind Meijer on
route 36. I was a tiny bit skeptical, but off I went. Sure enough, the
bittern flushed once more during my visit! I got perfect views of this
corn-colored bird, with black cap and back, yellow bill and all (OWU/town
bird #197!, starting to get close!).

Good birding,

Sean
