Hello fellows, This morning I was birding "Snipe Marsh," the marsh I've been mentioning behind Meijer's, ~1 mile east of Delaware on rt. 36. I walked around the marsh three times after trying to get better views of some Blue-winged Teal, when finally a I heard small tsee-ing coming from the marsh. I literally had a perfect window of opportunity, as through the cattails my binoculars descended upon a bright yellow-fronted/-faced bird with brown ventral stripes, a gray cheek, and a cryptically-patterned brown back. It was a beautiful bird, and such an exciting find. Nelson's Sparrow was OWU/town bird #199!! I hope #200 is just as exciting! Other birds in the area included Philly Vireo, 2 Green Herons, 4 PB Grebes, and Marsh Wrens. Not sure if the Least Bittern is still around, but he very well may be.
