Cuyahoga River valley between Independence, Valley View and Garfield hts. Last night I watched as peregrine falcons and kestrels floated on the west winds coming off the valley floor and rising along the bluffs on the east side of the I-480 bridge. If you go to City View shopping complex off Transportation Blvd and I-480 in Garfleld Hts. go behind the Applebees restaruant and sit next to the guard rail on the edge of the bluff. The peregrines were just floating in one spot facing into the west winds with their heads perfectly still looking down towards the valley floor. Every so often they would pull in their wings and dive down into the valley.
