I went to Villa Angela and Wildwood State Parks on the east side of Cleveland today around 10am. Mark Anderson was already there and stayed til 1pm. Jeanne Hrenko was there from 10 to around noon I think. It was harder to find the birds today. It was windy and overcast. As there were pockets in a few areas, things also picked up after 3pm near grassy knoll in Villa Angela which had birds throughout the day. Also in Wildwood along trees east of entrance road north of lakeshore parking lot there were birds seen several different times. Here is a list of some of the birds that I saw today: Double-crested Cormorant - 1 still fishing in Euclid Creek Great Blue Heron 1 Black-crowned Night-Heron 2 immatures past the bridge in Wildwood MERLIN 1 - in Villa Angela side of road bit north of the entrance rd parking lot as seen from Wildwood with Mark Ruby-throated Hummingbird 1 Belted Kingfisher 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 2 together Yellow-bellied Flycatcher 1 (possibly there were 2) Northern Flickers 9 Red-eyed Vireo 1 Blue Jays - many Red-breasted Nuthatch 1, in Wildwood north of Lakeshore parking area Brown Creeper 2 House Wren 1 Winter Wren 1 Golden-crowned Kinglet 3 Ruby-crowned Kinglet 9 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 1 Swainsons Thrush 3 Gray Catbird 5 Brown Thrasher 1 Warblers: Nashville 6 Chestnut-sided 2 Magnolia 8 Cape May 1 Yellow-rumped 5 Black-throated Green 3 Blackpoll 5 Black-and-White 1 American Redstart 3 Ovenbird 1 Wilson's 4 White-throated Sparrows - many over 30 Song Sparrow 1 Nancy Anderson Richmond Hts, OH http://www.flickr.com/photos/nancy_a/ ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
