I headed to Lakewood Park, this afternoon (1500-1730) for a bit of seawatching. Rain squalls, offshore mist, and drenched optics were all par for the course, yet so worthwhile. This was probably my best mid-afternoon lakewatching effort ever, and certainly a quite decent one for September. A list of highlights follows: Black Scoter 1 fem/imm flying right down the shoreline Black-bellied Plover 35 big flock headed east Long-billed Dowitcher 8 flock headed east peep sp. 8 jaeger sp. 1 after fog lifted, a VERY distant bird - Parasitic/Long-tailed type - headed east after some aerial acrobatics Peregrine Falcon 1 Good birding - Gabe Leidy ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
