A late report from Saturday a.m., sorry. Drowsing among 80 Ring-billed and 16 Bonaparte's Gulls was presumably the bird reported a while back. The flock was pretty docile and allowed close approach. An Osprey took one unsuccessful shot at a fish right off the beach then headed off to the North Pool. Three Killdeer weaving among the gulls. Towhees and Field Sparrows singing. No ducks. Spring Valley's boardwalk is now closed for waterfowl season, several blinds are already lining the lake. Surprised a Turkey near the parking lot at the feeder blind. One Canada Goose had the lake to itself. 20 Yellow-rumped Warblers, a Phoebe caught and ate a dragonfly, a female Pileated Woodpecker worked its way through the woods off the south parking lot.
