Ohio birders, especially those who live in the western counties, will welcome a new Indiana checklist, offered by Don Gorney as a two-page printout, at http://www.dongorney.com/indianachecklist.htm . It has 410 species vs. Ohio's 421 (I think), but does not include five extinct and extirpated species that Ohio's includes. Indiana's birdlife resembles Ohio's more closely than any other state's. Understandably enough, they have a few more western species, and we a few more eastern ones. Thanks to Don for the customarily fine work, and for making it so easily available. Bill Whan Columbus p.s. speaking of western species, the weather now brewing could easily help us catch up with Indiana on a few over the next couple of days! ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
