Just got back from Springfield Lake. There was an American avocet
roosting with the Canadas and ring-bills at Dodds Park---on the west
side of the lake. There is enough of a drop to hide the bird and I
didn't see it until I set up my scope about 30 yds away. It flushed out
to just past the lilies and soon returned to the sandy edge of the lake.
Fairly approachable. Also a few green-winged teals and ruddies.

Peace,

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that
enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as
a forerunner on our behalf
