Hey all -

Spent some time lake and harbor-watching at Lorain this afternoon.  Most
significant were the number of gulls in the area.  Within the habor was not a
single Bonaparte's, but ~3000 Ring-billed and ~500 Herring Gulls composed the
most gull activity I have seen here this year.  Two Lesser Black-backeds were
present, as well, including the freshest first-year bird I have seen in the
state - quite stunningly gorgeous, actually.  During my visits, a couple storm
systems passed out over the lake, after which Bonaparte's began streaming
west-to-east beyond the breakwall.  Within 30 min, I counted 840 birds,
including a couple big flocks totaling 100+ birds.  With waning light and
distance working against me, I was unable to detect any different.  Conneaut
Harbor with its resident Bonie flock may experience some additions and turnover
and may be worth a check tomorrow.

The Dunlin held three Dunlin and Greater Yellowlegs, and nine Dunlin were
additional flybys.

Good birding -
