This is a pass along about this news originally posted by Sherrie Duris on Rarebird.org Today,
There is a Black-bellied Whistling Duck in Bluffton Ohio, at Buckeye Quarry, usually along the west end of the quarry.
"Linda Houshower aka (lbhush) from Bluffton, Ohio messaged me on Facebook about at Black-bellied Whistling duck that has been hanging around with a group of Mallards at the Buckeye Quarry in Bluffton. Diane Myers originally found the bird and Linda was able to get a photo of it today. I believe it has been hanging around for a few weeks but I am not sure if they were sure of the ID, hence not reporting it sooner. There are hybrid Mallards that are mixed in with the group.

Her laptop is getting repaired and she was unable to post herself.

The bird is being seen along the west end of the quarry/lake. From I75 get off at exit 142 and head west on 103. Turn right at Main street and go north to the parking lot of the quarry on left. Follow trail left between creek and quarry to west end."

Worth checking on for those of us that missed the BBWD earlier this late summer.
