Cackling Goose: A flock of 6 found by Doug Overacker and his field trip at Old Reid Park in Springfield on 13 Nov. BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING DUCK: The bird was reported 8-10 Nov. Details from previous RBA: This bird, found by Linda Houshower several weeks ago, is at Buckeye Lake in Bluffton, Allen County. Further directions from Sherrie Duris: ³The bird is being seen along the west end of the quarry/lake. From I75 get off at exit 142 and head west on 103. Turn right at Main street and go north to the parking lot of the quarry on left. Follow trail left between creek and quarry to west end." Cattle Egret: One was seen at St. Mary¹s Fish Hatchery, 8-10 Nov (Russell Owl). A group of three birds flew by Ottawa NWR on 14 Nov (Mark, Birder25 at rarebird.org) At Barr's Mills and Nebraska Rd and Winkleflike intersection, Barr's Mills, one bird was seen in a field between "Schlabach Finishing" and an Organic Valley Dairy farm on 13 Nov (Hallie Mason). Semipalmated Plover: A late individual at Ellis Pond of Pickerington Ponds, at ³the rim of mud just west of there visible from Wright Rd., from the parking lot to the western end near Bowen Rd² on 8 Nov (Bill Whan). Marbled Godwit: A nice find of 4 birds found during a big day at Ottawa NWR by John Habig, Glen Cripper, and Dave Collopy on 13 Nov. Purple Sandpiper: 2 birds 9-11 Nov at the base of the lighthouse at Mentor Headlands (multiple observers). Western Sandpiper: A late bird at Ellis Pond of Pickerington Ponds, at ³the rim of mud just west of there visible from Wright Rd., from the parking lot to the western end near Bowen Rd² on 8 Nov (Bill Whan). White-rumped Sandpiper: 3 birds lingered at Ellis Pond at Pickerington Ponds, viewed from ³the rim of mud just west of there visible from Wright Rd., from the parking lot to the western end near Bowen Rd² on 8 Nov (Bill Whan). Pomarine Jaeger: Greg Miller had two, and possibly three light-phase adults fly by Brad Street Landing, Cuyahoga County, on 11 Nov. Another one was spotted on 13 Nov during the Lake Erie pelagic trip, sponsored by Black Swamp Bird Observatory. EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE: One bird has been hanging around the house and feeders of 1389 County Road 140, Sugarcreek (Bobolink Rare Bird Alert). White-winged Crossbill: A female came to John Pogacnik¹s feeders on 14 Nov.
