Brant: One bird seen ³in a winter wheat field south of CR 24 and west of CR 107, about 100 feet off the road (south of Haviland), according to Andy Sewell, through 26 Nov (multiple observers). BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING DUCK: The bird was reported through 26 Nov. Details from previous RBA: This bird, found by Linda Houshower several weeks ago, is at Buckeye Lake in Bluffton, Allen County. Further directions from Sherrie Duris: ³The bird is being seen along the west end of the quarry/lake. From I75 get off at exit 142 and head west on 103. Turn right at Main street and go north to the parking lot of the quarry on left. Follow trail left between creek and quarry to west end." Long-tailed Duck: A female seen at Deer Creek Reservoir on 28 Nov (Eric Reiner). Red-throated Loon: Bob Royse found one bird at Deer Creek Reservoir on 23 Nov. Cattle Egret: This bird remained at St. Mary¹s Fish Hatchery on 23 Nov (Jill Bowers). Golden Eagle: Just south of The Wilds at the AEP Recreation Area, near Prouty Rd., one bird was reported on 26 Nov (Scott Albaugh). Purple Sandpiper: One bird reported heading west, seen from Headlands on 27 Nov (Ethan Kistler et al.) Red Phalarope: A bird flew by John Pogacnik¹s watch from North Perry on 26 Nov. Pomarine Jaeger: One juvenile bird seen briefly at Lorain Harbor on 27 Nov (Gabe Leidy). Sabines Gull: The immature bird at Metzger Marsh was reported through 27 Nov, east of the pier at the end of the road (Kenn Kaufman, multiple observers). BLACK-HEADED GULL: Jen Brumfield found a bird with about 5000 Bonaparte¹s Gulls at Lorain Harbor, which was present 27-28 Nov. Little Gull: One bird reported flying by a lake watch in North Perry on 26 Nov (John Pogacnik). Another bird seen by Gabe Leidy and others on 27 Nov at Huron Pier. Yet another seen at Bay Shore Power on 28 Nov (Brian Zweibel). Franklins Gull: Near the Huron Pier on 26-27 Nov, Gabe Leidy reported one bird. Thayers Gull: An first-year bird seen on 28 Nov at Avon Lake Powerplant (Jen Brumfield). At Huron Pier, another immature bird was reported on 28 Nov (Becky C). Northern Shrike: An individual was present at the state game reserve south of Carey ³in a treeline near a cattle pasture between CH 97 and 98² on 24 Nov (Eric Mullholand). Along Ohms Rd. in Pickerel Creek Wildlife Area, one bird seen on 28 Nov (Becky C).
