Hi all, I had 10 Cackling Geese in Delaware on 12/5. Nine individuals were at the Kroger Distribution Center on rt 36. They've been moving around from the fields to the retention ponds behind the center, only visible from the railroad tracks at times. Later, I brought Chloe Hamrick, Will Condit, Aubrey Alamshah, and John Riverso to view the birds. Photos were obtained thanks to Will, and can be seen here: http://picasaweb.google.com/seanbirder/CacklingGeese#5547602800908910146 You can enlarge and drag the photo around to see more detail. At least six birds are present in the photo, indicated by the red box on the right, and I'm pretty sure another two are present in the red box to the left. As I was dropping people off on campus, I spotted a flock of 80 geese flying over, with another obvious tiny Cackling Goose. Since this is more than a mile west of the nine birds, and the 80 were flying north to south, I am confident that it was another bird.
