Paul,
I live in Licking County between Johnstown & Utica & the White
crowned sparrow is usually my most common bird species in winter. I've had a
few at the beginning of the season and then they disappeared. I thought it
was because my neighbor had cut down some of the multi-flora roses between
our property but perhaps not. I love to hear their song through May.

Subject: [Ohio-birds] Where are the White-throated Sparrows?

Over the past six years we've lived in Dublin, we could count on a good
amount of White-throated Sparrows coming to our backyard feeders during the
winter. They usually arrive in mid-November. So far - not one!

There are plenty of Dark-eyed Juncos though.
