While watching the feeders late this morning I was somewhat surprised to find a lone cowbird, although I have had them on and off for short periods of time in winters past. But the big surprise was to see a phoebe land on top of my shepherd's hook, pump its tail a few times and then take off - of course before any of the rest of the family could see it to make sure I wasn't just "seeing things". I'm sure, however, that that it what it was. It'll make a nice addition to my slowly accumulating Century List. The million dollar question is - am I crazy? Hmm, I may not want that answered! However, I think I recall there being some posts regarding a phoebe in November or early December somewhere in Ohio. I was still focused on my last quarter of school, so this past fall is kind of a blur! Other highlights so far include: WT Sparrow Tree Sparrow Finches - house and gold Woodpeckers - hairy, downy and red-bellied And a few other assorted common feeder birds Kurt, you are welcome to direct those redpolls West, just "over the hill". I've got the feeders filled and ready for visitors!! Happy birding!
