A little outside the Cincinnati area but for you January listers this is worth the trip. For more info on location check the Ohio list on birdingonthe.net. A few days ago a Ross' Goose was reported here along with Snow Geese & Greater White-fronted Geese. Well today from 525-550 pm until it got just too dark to see, I observed 2 ROSS' GEESE, 14 SNOW GEESE (12 white phase & 2 Blue phase), & 8 CACKLING GEESE in a group of about 3000 Canada Geese. Also present were about 350 Mallards, 40 Black Ducks, & 3 Ruddy Ducks. The geese just kept piling in the darker it got & the last group that flew in held the majority of the Snow Geese. Alas, no Greater White-fronts.....this is becoming my nemesis bird :) ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
