I couldn't make the freeway in the snow this morning so I started at Villa Angela/Wildwood State Parks on the eastside of Cleveland from 10:45 to 12:45pm. I have just a few highlights that seem pretty regular lately. The area south of the bathhouse along the asphalt path was very birdy when it started to snow which hasn't been the case there for me lately. Red Foxes - 2 as I entered the field in Villa Angela saw creatures scurrying quickly through the bushes (to big for cats) so I went out to the road to get their pictures Great Black-backed Gull 1 flew over Wildwood Coopers Hawk 1 flew between the parks very visible Winter Wrens 2 - one heard in Wildwood down by Euclid Creek, one seen in field of Villa Angela making warning calls from my presence as I walked through the field very visible Red-breasted Nuthatch 1 saw flying into pine tree by bathhouse Hairy Woodpecker 1 m, Red-bellied 1, Downy 4, White-breasted Nuthatch 4, Tufted Titmouse 5, Dark-eyed Junco 4-5, BC Chickadees 7-8 Eastlake Power Plant I just wanted to add to the previous posts that I saw one female Black Scoter far east of the fishing pier/breakwall in with the Scaup around 1:45pm (not to be confused with the Ruddy Duck that was also there) and some Double-crested Cormorants.
