The Harris's Sparrow previously reported on Bear Hollow Road near Apple Creek still was there today. The very gracious homeowner continues to welcome birders, and the bird did not disappoint, showing up about 45 minutes after we arrived and affording excellent looks. We then stopped by the quarry on Prairie Lane south of Wooster, where many, many Canada Geese almost obscured two Ross's Geese. We *may* have seen a couple of Cackling Geese, but picking them out from the hordes of their larger cousins -- and doing so from a fair distance -- is tough and we had only limited time. As previously noted, this location is a working quarry: the staff there does not object to birders parking in front of the first building, but please check in before setting up scopes and definitely stay out of the way of arriving and departing trucks. We looked around for flocks of blackbirds that might include the previously-reported Yellow-headed Blackbirds, but did not run across them. Again, we were had only a limited time; more intensive searching might yield better results.
