Just got back from the KBC field trip to E. 72nd. Two, maybe three dozen individual gulls total, mostly Ring-billed and a few Herring. Highlights were a hundred or so each Canvasback and Redheads, a hundred mixed Scaups, a Shoveler, six Gadwalls, as many Black Ducks, a couple hundred Canadas. A Peregrine scared away almost all Canvasbacks and half the rest of the birds. A stop at the Gordon Park ranger's office for a Saw-whet seen there came up empty, except for a nickel-sized fresh pellet. The rest went to Eastlake, expect a report from somebody soon. What gulls and waterfowl have you seen? I may head up there in the next day or two and would appreciate an update. Thanks.
