The Great Horned Owl is back in the nesting tree at Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus. It was sitting on the "nest" in the same tree as in previous years located on the ridge in Area M. Only its head and a bit of his neck were visible. It is best seen from the road just down from the John Brown Monument and in front of the Nash grave site. It may be superfluous to mention on the list serve but please do not approach the tree and just observe from the road. The owls are skittish this time of year and are harassed enough by the blue jays in the area. They have abandoned the nest in previous years due to too much human activity nearby. Also saw a Coopers Hawk on the north side of the cemetery and a Kestrel at the entrance ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
