I made quick loop through several areas around this reservoir in southern Delaware County yesterday, including the Home Rd Bridge, Traphagen Preserve, Twin Lakes Park, and the dam area. The reservoir is solidly frozen over; only the spillway has open water, and it was infested with mallards. Geese & herons were fewer since I wasn't there early in the morning. Despite the sunny day, not too much bird activity. Notables included

Flickers - birds at every stop, including 3 at Traphagen. They seem to be attempting to move north, even against this cold & ice

E.Phoebe - 1 bird was calling at Twin Lakes. As is increasingly the case, it was hard to tell if this bird was an early migrant or had overwintered nearby.

Mockingbird - 1 at Traphagen, trying to defend a crabapple against a flock of marauding Robins. Good luck with that.

Horned Larks - flyovers at several locations, all going north. Their migration may have already begun.
